We will be an inclusive, diverse organisation, aiming to enable all Harrow’s communities to enjoy cycling.
A big thank you to all who helped with our inclusive cycling event: Cycling Projects for their cycles and expertise; our sponsors BrickMortar; CommunityConnex (thanks for some of these photos!), Leonard Cheshire and Harrow Association of Disabled People who told people about it; our 23 volunteers who cleaned cycles, supported riders, took photos, did admin and more; British Cycling; the Mayor and Mayoress of Harrow, Deputy Mayor, Deputy Leader, councillors and officers who came to support; Everyone Active who provided the venue; Harrow Athletics Club; and most of all, the participants and families who came to try out the range of adapted cycles. For Nilay Shah, 15, from Kingsbury, it was the first time on a real bike. “I love it, it is so good” he says. His carer Atul Shah found out about the event from NW London Down Syndrome Group. Harrow Cycle Hub is working with Cycling Projects to raise money for a permanent scheme. If you'd like to help or fundraise please email us.
We need: expressions of interest and support from you. You will be able to become a member and we shall be accepting donations and sponsorship. We have registered as a charity, have begun teaching people to ride and setting up policies and procedures – doing as much as we can under Covid regulations.
